Amazon’s 1-Click feature is one of the first patients by Jeff Bezos, and at the time, it wasn’t updated in over 20 years. On top of the retail and mobile app, Amazon products, like Alexa, all digital products relied on the 1-Click preferences page for purchasing. With Amazon regularly pushing out new ways for customers to interact with their platform, it was clear this needed an updated.

This project’s design production cycle lasted 12 weeks, which was divided into auditing the current design, interviewing and testing iterations, and of course designing the iterations themselves. The turn around for this project was very quick, with development working only 1 week behind design, so an Agile framework was necessary.

During the audit, the design team was able to breakdown the page into 3 major sections:

  • The header (an informative section that guide’s the user
  • The device management component
  • The main section where users can set addresses.

With previous research and interviews, we were able to revamp each section based on users pain points. One of the most important features here is the default preferences, which displays the information used by Alexa and other digital devices.

With this redesign, we were able to provide more than just a facelift. While streamlining this interface, we were able to get rid of any redundant features, bring a holistic mobile experience, and even introduce enhancements, like a nicknaming system.
